Just visited HRO today to return some components and couldn't help but buy additional items to play with. Woody and I have been discussing the potential of a 75 meter Delta antenna. One of the guys at HRO fired up the antenna modeling software and we came up with some thoughts on lengths and feed points for best SWR readings.
It seems given my envelope of space that I will likely be between 12 and 50 feed elevation with about 120' bottom (horizontal) leg and approximately 68' sections up to the top point at about the 50' mark.
Tried the feed point at different locations and discovered that most likely the best place to put it is in the middle of the horizontal 120' lower section.
They said I would likely need a tuner to be able to use it on more than one band.
The plan would be to use 450 ohm ladder line to 50 ohm feed line.
Has anyone built this type of antenna? Any thoughts or recommended changes to the information provided above?

That's cool info. I didn't know that HRO did modeling for you. I downloaded a program, but it is over complicated, will have to have them model my next antenna.

He sat down at the computer with me for about a half hour and we discovered the different radiation patterns a variety of feed points options. Pretty nifty really.
It turns out for my configuration (contrary to what I thought) the best location is at the center of the horizontal (lower) section of wire.
FYI... He said the software that is included with "The Antenna Book" from ARRL. I have that book so I'll try to load it in and see if I can make it work.
It might be complicated as you suggest...

Any progress on that 75 meter Delta antenna? I made a 6m dipole but bought the wrong balun, it is only good to 30 Mhz. Will exchange on Monday.

I have a bitx40 kit on its way from India. It's a 7-20watt SSB transceiver board. It comes fully populated and aligned, but you have to solder in some pots, switches, and plugs. Then put it in a box. I'm excited since this will be my first HF rig. I'm hoping to learn enough from it for my second to be a homebrew DSB 40 meter lm358/ne602 radio similar to VK3YE's beach 40 and other simple direct conversion rigs. For an antenna mast I have a 21' painters pole. According to m0ukd.com/calculators/inverted-vee-antenna/ that should be almost perfect for a 45° inverted V. I'd also like to make a vertical that I could support with the pole and possibly try supporting it with a kite. I guess I will need to make some kind of qrp tuner to go with those. I plan on using it primarily out on SOTA peaks and hiking.
