I am setting up a Wire-X Node and Room in the Goldielocks Zone in the Metro Center Area. This is a Yaesu FTM-100D dedicated radio connected to a HRI-200 Wires-X Internet Linking Kit. For the experimental phase a 5/8 wave Larson will be used at 15' on a soon to be announced VHF frequency. Future plans are to move to UHF. There will be a local room for talking and occasional linking to other rooms and/or repeaters. Bill N9EIV has a Fusion repeater on 448.100 in Scottsdale and has approved links to him. He often parks it in the South Mt room which usually includes the South Mt and Black Canyon Fusion repeaters. This room and others worldwide can be accessed directly by local users controlling my node. (nodes are simplex access points into the Wires-X system) I am waiting for my Digital ID from Japan (3 days and counting) so I can get my node on the air. UPDATE: It took 11 days with help from Yaesu CA, seems there was some computer issue. More to come... Compatible Digital Yaesu Radios (link)

The PHOENIX MATRIX is up and running on Wires-X with a dedicated radio (FTM-400DR) and digital node (HRI-200) in the Phoenix, Metro Center Area. This simplex node is operated in Open Mode at this time and all can change rooms to anywhere in the world or to other local rooms and repeaters with a Wires-X connection. Please return to 43191 when done.
UHF 445.275 in DIGITAL NARROW mode to the "Phoenix MatriX"
WIRES-X Room ID : 43191 PHOENIX-MATRIX
NOTES:
UPDATE- Node antenna is a Diamond X300 at 25' near Metro Center, station power is 25 watts. The current field tests are showing a 15+ mile coverage.
The node is on-line during the weekends and holidays, others times on occasion or request.
Enjoy!

Hello, Is 147.520 Mhz still active among the folks listed? Thanks, Dean.

Hey Dean, 147.520 has intermittent use, not really monitored. We have been using the Matrix 445.275 more for simplex when we are on. I was using the Node on here a lot, but with the addition of West Valley ARC Boswell repeater it is not being visited by many and I haven't been motivated to keep it on. There is an effort by Bill N9EIV to create Valley Wide coverage with Superstition, Scottsdale and any others to interconnect. However Ron (South Mt) and West Valley have not committed. If there is a need I will start putting my Node up again and interconnecting during weekends and busy times. I'm always open to ideas.
